Foreset is a personal finance app in development for one household. A normalized ledger brings accounts and transactions together, whether a record was entered manually, imported or received through a connected provider.
Categories explain where money went. Virtual savings buckets answer a different question: how much of the cash already in an account is reserved for something else. Goals and sinking funds sit on top of those reservations without moving real money.
Turn a debt into a plan
Liabilities are modeled with their interest and payment behavior. A payoff solver can work forward from a monthly budget to a date, or backward from a deadline to the payment required.
Named plans retain their inputs and schedule so alternatives can be reviewed. Other solver modes explore interest cost and the tradeoff between paying debt and preserving savings.
Look ahead without changing the baseline
Cash-flow forecasts combine modeled income, recurring bills, debts and goals. Named scenarios apply overrides to that baseline, making it possible to compare a different income or payment plan without rewriting the original records.
Self-employment tax planning uses versioned, source-backed rules for estimates and quarterly targets. The calculations are deterministic, with no language model deciding a balance or tax result.
A planning tool, still in development
Foreset reads and plans. It does not transfer funds, pay bills, trade investments or file a tax return. Manual data is a first-class path, so bank connectivity is not required to explore a plan.
The screenshots are captures of the actual local app using its built-in demo household. Names, balances and transactions are synthetic examples. The project has no public consumer release yet.
